Cindy Spicer, PD of iHeartMedia country combo “US 103.5” WFUS Tampa and WQIK Jacksonville (99.1), will depart the company at the end of September. Spicer, who has spent more than 20 years with iHeart, added PD duties at WQIK in January 2021. She previously programmed the station from 2012-2018.

When someone who's worked for one of the monopolies for so long is now leaving, one can only speculate as to why. Is she doing this by her own personal choice, or by force.

Given that she's not leaving until the end of the month, it's likely by her own choice. When they let you go, you're usually asked to leave the building immediately.

Not necessarily. Sometimes the monopolies will let longtime employees go out with dignity in order to save face. Again not sure of her particular situation and this is just speculation, but I'd be willing to bet that cheap channel decided to not renew her contract, but because she has been with them for so long if she makes it seem like it was her choice, keep quiet about it, and then in return she'll get a nice severance package.
