You're probably right about not being able to use anymore translators than are already available, but I've said it before and I'll say it again, KHTP's 103.3 is totally unnecisary, yet it's been rebroadcasting 103.7 for at least 6 years now. Meanwhile, in other markets including down here in Portland, all the translators in the market are running an hd feed, allowing them to operate as another radio station. That being said, I couldn't seen Entercom doing that with 103.3, they'd probably lease it to iHeart or Hubbard if Classic Hip-Hop has any chance in Seattle. That being said, you want to know how simply an hd signal with no translator showing up or not in the ratings has anything to do with this thread? Well think about this, if you were to launch a new format that was getting decent to good numbers in other markets, why would you launch it on an hd2 with no translator when even if every radio in the market was tuned to hd it would still only garner maybe a 0.2? That may not be much less than you're able to gain from a translator, but you're going to have it a lot easier with a translator than without one.
