From Taylor on Radio today The news about the call could be a stomach-churner for over-anxious staffers during the Labor Day holiday weekend. Bigger than a format flip in Memphis. What do you think?

They are probably just moving the Death Star to a different planet...

“We’d like to announce that we will be running all of our formats out of San Antonio to all markets. Until “Denise” is perfected (or good enough, anyway), there will be three guys and a female living in Nantucket who will voice track all the channels. You’re all fired.”

"Denise" is available 24/7 for a one-time $100 fee
"Denise" doesn't need life insurance or benefits
"Denise" doesn't demand a raise at the end of her contract
"Denise" doesn't argue with unreasonable requests
"Denise" reads the copy just as it is written
"Denise" doesn't show up late or drunk
"Denise" doesn't have a giant ego

"Denise" does exactly what you tell her to do...
"Denise" may sound robotic and not have any creativity at all - but that just makes her the perfect CC employee!

I am so glad that I never worked for Cheap Channel. Way back in the 1990's, I decided that if CC wasn't going to pay me as much as I was making sweeping floors and cleaning toilets for Garden Ridge that CC was too cheap for me.

Well when I get on that conference call I'll tell them a thing or two. No Clear Channel ever stopped me from making a jackass out of myself. I'll get drunk and shout at em and show them who the radio station still is - The talent! I'll bring em over to my way of thinking.

And Denise the auto thing, we'll write some virus program to stop her. I still love radio and I'll keep fighting for the good old days until I kick the bucket.

Old Tom G..what a man. If I wasn't already married I be all over you.

Big Conference call this week...I Heart Radio...much to do about nothing. More R & D going into devices rather than developing good local programming talent and the next generation of live DJs and PDs. I Heart app is cool stuff but what about the people. I can see the holy trinity of CC radio in the wings. I Heart Radio, Denise and Darin Davis. Will there be a need for anyone more?

What I am saying...some of these terms mean nothing to me...are they going totally automated for voice too?...pls explain...I am not a programmer....tnx JBI

The meeting was self promotion to their employess of a new phone application available to the the public. People will be able to create their own play lists of favoriate songs. A computer will also select songs that the computer feels the listener will also like based on a predetermined criteria. Very similar to a service call Pandora. Its cool high tech stuff. People will be able to build their playlist and listen to the selections either on their computer or smart phone if they have the free phone app. Clear Channel on the cutting edge of delivering music to the listener without live djs.

I'm a little old fashioned, so forgive me, but the fact that I can now have a Pandora type service available to me on my cell phone does not interest me one iota. I could care less about this latest offering from Clear Channel. I guess that's what this big concert coming up later this month is all about....this and thier I Heart product.
