Radio blogs and journals are reporting that Clear Channel will be airing on 21 stations what they're calling "radio resumes." Radio2020 says once a week each of the 21 participating markets will pick five unemployed people to record 30-second “radio resumes” that point interested employers to the station’s website.
Isn't it a bit soon to do this? Isn't this the same company that just laid off 590 in late April? What about the 1800 in January?
The ones who must really be feeling it are the survivors. They've had to say goodbye to their laid off colleagues. They're now doing at least double the work. Then on top of that they have to pretend to like the idea of cutting 30-second spots for others looking for work.
