Now it becomes clear why they had to fire 1000's of good people last week. It's brutal but congrats on balanceing the budget

Why doesn't this surprise me?

I grow really weary of these kool-aid drinking "spokespersons" who try to sell the corporate lines like "the loss of jobs is unfortunate"; that they believe cutting people at the local level and replacing them with a piped-in product will result in better local radio; and the recent prize winner from Pittman himself that the decisions "weren't about money", never mind that pesky multi-billion dollar debt they're trying to service.

To the corporate radio world: have the stones to tell the truth or shut up. No one is buying the B.S.

Better yet, they are leasing the plane from another company in which Pittman has an interest.....how sweet is that? Sounds corrupt to me....but I"m sure CC's
attorneys have their a$$ covered.

This doesn't appear to help CC's bottom line, when it comes to profits. I've about given up trying to extol the virtues of live, local radio. If the corporations don't care about it, then they don't care. That's their right as much as I hate it. If the point is to maximize profits, then these salaries and perks are unjustified. Radio was always a tough business, but now it's virtually impossible for those precious few left at the bottom. I suppose you can always make comparable money doing custodial work. Let me grab my broom and plunger.
