Clear Channel continues to strip stations of staff

Sorry to hear that...But, not all that surprised. Great talent, but I did hear his contract was on the higher end - at least as far as CC is concerned. Wonder what they're going to do with afternoons now...probably syndicated crapola...

Yes, Ray was probably guilty of making a living.

They will run Dave Koz from the new smooth jazz network...which, of course, is owned by a CC subsidiary. Miranda will do middays on the new network, as well as KKSF, according to sources.

All these firing through CC in the US, do you think they are planning on merging with another company? Or being sold????

LOL-- a radio traveler must have been in the himalayas these past few weeks!

yes Clear Channel has been Sold.... google can catch you up faster than i.

My bad.

Then why is everyone SO surprised that people are getting FIRED??? Nobody is safe.

Not surprised: disgusted.

Mass talent and support firings, added automation, voice tracking, HD Radio, and importing non-local programs are all part of the Clear Channel "less is more" campaign. ;D

What it really means is that the investors have decided that the Mays' era Clear Channel is bad business. They're getting out now, selling it off to private fund managers who will strip the business model back to a much smaller company and, if that doesn't work, they'll sell it all off over the next 3 or 4 years.

Clear Channel's Future... Nothing but Senior Management, and Board Operators... Not a good prospect for future employment, unless your one, or the other. :-\

And according to the Trades, Your Not Fired or Layed Off at CC...YOUR "Reorganized"
I wonder if they have that box on the Unemployment Ins. application. In SF they have about 2 live people on the air at every station. How sad for radio and the folks who love it. But I'm sure the Mays Boyz will enjoy the Billions their getting from the new buyers, and more good news they get to keep their jobs too! Actually "More is More" in their case. Happy Holidays.

BOO~!!!!! Big thumbs down for Clear Channel!!!.... Note, I am not related to CC in any ways.
