Clear Channel has an all-news feed for I heart Radio

This is supposed to be like NBC NIS(1970's) and ARNN News. Not sure if they have OTA's in some parts of the country or compete with ARNN News and CBS Radio news feed for radio.com.

Lloyd Lindsay Young just showed up as the channel's weather voice -- pretty much the only surprise other than the lack of an ad break in the 15 minutes or so that I've just thrown away listening.

I noticed this yesterday when I pulled up the IHeart app on my phone. It's called 24/7 News. Not sure what CC plans to do with this. Perhaps a new canned format to roll out to AM stations when they realize the comedy format sucks?

I was thinking if this was supposed to be a backup plan just in case Hannity, Rush, Beck fail in more markets. Or will they put it on DriveTime in some areas?

I doubt this would work in the big cities simply because the top market DMA all-news stations like WCBS/KCBS/WTOP/WBBM/WINS/KYW/WBZ the audience would demand local content. This is supposed to be a competing all-news radio network from America's radio news from TRN Inc. Well this could work in areas where ARNN does not have an affiliate yet or when Rush, Hannity or Beck retires or get fired at some point. Is Fox News contract expired in 2012 or 2013.
