Clear Channel Plans to insert Local all-news 24/7 feeds to Iheartradio

Checked it out. Obviously not being done locally in Atlanta. Announcers cannot properly
pronounce "DeKalb" or "Chamblee". This is NOT AN 106.7. It apparently is some kind
of internet only feed, and repetitive. This sounds even more repetitive than the old
CNN Headline News. The loop of tape plays over and over again. Who is Clear Channel
trying to fool with this kind of stuff? More boring than Dave Ramsey.

Basically, someone, somewhere is reading from the AP wire.

WOW... this is so repetitive. We are talking about a 3 minute news wheel... and to think I was complaining about AN106.7's news wheel being too short.

Who would listen to this ? ???
It's like something you'd play to torture someone.
4 items, weather, 4 items, weather, 4 items, weather, 4 items, weather, 4 items, weather, 4 items, weather, 4 items, weather, 4 items, weather, 4 items, weather, 4 items, weather, 4 items, weather, 4 items, weather, 4 items, weather, 4 items, weather, 4 items, weather, 4 items, weather, 4 items, weather, 4 items, weather, 4 items, weather,
I'll TELL YOU ANYTHING! JUST MAKE IT STOP!!

Duh-KAHLB? Usually I hear "Dee-KALLB".

Waiting for "pon-say day lee-ohn"...

The "boom" sounder is VERY annoying...

Maybe its just a ploy for CC to prevent Cumulus and CBS from entering other cities. I do know Merlin News in New York and Chicago was off the air for 2 months. Or another ploy for what if Fox News does not want to renew with CC or Rush Leaves CC?

Saturday at the Ga Radio Hall of Fame ceremony Matt Cook made a reference to this with details still being worked out.
But it appears he and others who had been fired are about to be rehired.
Sometimes the board can be aggressively analytical as launches and people doing launches have to get a flow for the product...(think AN106.7 and the pages of commentary on that)...but while having some concerns and doubts I want to give it a chance to work. If CC picks Atlanta as a hub for a national feed and rehires some folks who need a job, I want to see them make it work.

IMHO: With the exception of TV cable channels (Ted Turner's legacy), Atlanta is not really a national media center. Some news agencies have offices due to the available airline connections and it is kind of "center" of the southeast, but that it. I would like to see more stuff in Atlanta. Cox and Cumulus are doing their share but CC for some reason treats the market like it was a sub 100 market. Maybe CC is finally going to do something "creative" besides blow up stations.

EUE/Screen Gems at Lakewood is helping, too.
