Ummm if you go into a job/internship with a bad attitude, doesn't it stand to reason that you will have a bad experience? I dont know what corporate training/education guru said "Act your way into a new way of thinking." but that seems like some good advice. I quit a corporate job at 34 years old, went to school and I too interned at CC. I'd of course heard all the monikers about the beast, but at that time, I NEEDED AN INTERNSHIP TO GRADUATE!!!! Beggers cant be choosers. I didnt care about all the crap I heard about the company. Besides, I was soooooo low down on the totem poll that all that corporate crap probably wouldn't slip ALL the way downhill...and it didnt. I interned in Sarasota at the then news station, also did production and bugged the rock station P-D to put me on the air. It all worked. Then came the part time job offer. I was having the time of my life and besides I NEEDED TO HAVE SOME SORT OF INCOME TO EAT!!!!! Here I am close to 4 years later, still way low on the totem pole, under the radar and doing just fine. I'm probably the exception to the rule though. I've heard and read all about the bad times at CC, but in this economic climate...any job is a good job. Besides, the father of a good friend once told me, "A job isn't something you like, it's sometyhing you do." Iv'e found plenty of other creative outlets like playing in my band and doing voice overs and on hold stuff. The work is out there if you look for it. Plus. when a hurricane comes, I have a place to crash. lol
Peace and chicken grease.
