ClearChannel, Peach, Oldies, and Atlanta? What might all these factors form....?

I have spoken to several people at CCATL that Say Paul Kelley, PD and Oper. Manager at ClearChannelPueblo's KPHT, "Pueblo's Greatest Hits", will be making the move to Atlanta this month for the launch of 105.7 or 96.1 "The Peach". For a listen of what the PLANNED (could change, who knows) might sound like, take a listen here: http://www.iheart.com/#/live/425/?autoplay=true

I don't know if it will nessicarily be oldies or maybe adult hits, but probably a 70/80s based format of some kind.

Pretty straightforward pop classic hits format on that station. "Oldies" is not very viable anymore.
As I have said before, 70s and 80s are as old today as 50s and 60s were in the 1990s. The boomers won't give up the term "oldies" and nobody else wants it. It's just not P.C. among programmers.

OMG, I;ll take it...................... ;D ;D ;D If they put this on 96.1 it will kill the River.............105.7 is jinxed leave that one alone. CC I know you said this month, so this could happen pretty quick?????

96.1 has been Rock not pop since the mid to late 70's, The head banging rock on the Project is only the 30 + year later version of Hendrix and Rush (96 Rock staples for years). The would be a seismic event if pop music goes on 96.1 The frequency has been rocking in form or another for 3 plus decades. Of course "tradition" does not pay the bills.

If 96.1 plays some of the 70 and 80 AC / pop songs commercial free starting the workday off at 9. 96 @ 9 caller 10 will have 2 stations to listen to.

Well, since it's friday, I'm going to listen to the CC Atlanta stations. Maybe something will happen today!

Although, given next weekend is Labor Day...

You never know about CC Atlanta, remember lautching The Bull during 94.9's (Peach / Lite's Christmas music marathon!

BTW: did CC have to give "make goods" to the Christmas music buyers?

I wouldn't be shocked if CC does throw away Project 961, but i don't really think that will happen after all the money spent to bring in Kidd Chris.

From my source in the building of career death, The Project does quite well with male (non CHR) teens outsideof the perimeter. If CC had a Hip Hop station they would have most of the male (non CHR) teens in the market.

So....any more word on WiLD? So if Peach, does perhaps go to 96.1 Then, maybe WiLD goes to 94.9? It wouldn't make any since to move WiLD to 105.3. I've noticing they have a huge listener base in Hall and Gwinnett County. As well as, Cherokee, Bartow and Forsyth Counties! Lots of friends and family up there, say they love WiLD (compared to Q100). Moving them to 105.3 would practically wipe out those listeners. Now... I'm not sure if CC has even considered it but, if it's now an option, I think 105.3 would be a bad decision to put WiLD on! CHR/Rhythmic needs to be on a full-power signal in ATL.

Any thoughts from CC on this?

You can get 105.3 in Bartow and Cherokee.

WKLS went from BM/EZ ("96...that's Klass") to 96 Rock AOR in 1974.

If Cumulus isn't already looking to move 99x after Dave flips, any changes to Project will result in an immediate move of 99x to 100.5.
