CMG Expands Sports Coverage with ESPN in Jacksonville WOKV 690

https://news.****************/cgi-bin/rol.exe/headline_id=n36133

Note the Sports talk format is coming to Jacksonville in January 2019 on WOKV-AM

Beginning in January, 2019, ESPN Radio will join Cox Media Group's cluster in Jacksonville, FL, to provide local and national sports coverage. The new station, branded "ESPN 690 AM," replaces WOKV-AM. Co-owned WOKV-FM (News 104.5) will continue to be a source for local news, weather, traffic and informative talk. Included in the lineup are "Golic and Wingo" (6-10am), "The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz" (10am-1pm), "The Stephen A. Smith Show" (1-3pm) and "Spain & Fitz" (6-9pm).

Much like they did with WDBO AM/FM in Orlando about 4 years ago, split the news to FM and went ESPN on AM. Orlando has "live/local" from 4-6pm only. AM was the home of the Orlando Magic from their inception, until this year when IHeart took over. From my experience, XL and 930 are both so Jags specific and ESPN station might do OK ... I'd expect they may pick up Miami or Tampa Bay football as well.
