CMT To Air "Dallas," "Green Acres" On New Year's Weekend

Yes, nothing says "country music" much like J.R. Ewing and Arnold the Pig.
http://blog.sitcomsonline.com/2010/12/green-acres-dallas-marathons-on-cmt-abc.html

The link says the network is only airing these two shows that weekend (along with "The Dukes Of Hazzard"). But would anyone really be surprised if they eventually join the network full-time? At this rate, they should be carrying "Andy Griffith" and "Gomer Pyle, USMC" reruns, too.

One wonders why a "Dallas: The Next Generation" was never done, using Larry Hagman and Patrick Duffy in at least cameos, while their sons battle for control. Throw in progeny of the other sons, and the fur would fly.

So Kicks 105.5 is great, but Country 92.5 isn't? They lead the state in country music. :D

Of course they do when they have a monopoly on the format. KIX 97.9 from Springfield used to be heard in a large portion of the Hartford market until ESPN signed on that experimental station from Bristol on 98.1 WX4ESPN. 113 watts analog. And 10? Watts HD. KIX 97.9 is much better than Country 92.5 and in my opinion on par with Cumulus's KICKS 105.5 FM. Many people I know seem to think that if KICKS had a more powerful signal they could destroy or at least eat away at Country 92.5 FM. Among the issues I have with Country 92.5, they don't go back far enough in their playlist like KICKS 105.5 does and their processing sucks. Not to mention DC their VT'd night time jock has a voice that makes him sound like he got kicked in the "safe deposit box.".

How soon before CMT is rebranded as the fully restored Nashville network? (or...National Network...or whatever...) :D

No but I would love to see "BJ and the Bear". If that does'nt fit CMT for a classic show I don't know what does?Momma's family...Oh wait! They already did that...

Or how about "The Misadventures of Sheriff Lobo"? That aired on Retro Television Network(at least in Seattle) but it hasn't aired in this area for a while; plus they only showed the first season on RTV, and not the second season episodes when the characters moved to Atlanta, those episodes I would like to see.

I remember reading something about that a few years ago; they wanted to use the basis of the last Dallas reunion movie (from 1998) as a jump-off point for a potential "Dallas: TNG" spinoff, but CBS and Warner Brothers decided to pass on it. There was also a planned theatrical version, but more as a parody (think The Brady Bunch movies from the '90s) that 20th Century Fox was working on, but nothing more came of it.

Will as we see another brandied network got trashed by MTV networks.what does CMT got to do with country music these days.anyway I think the old TNN played reruns of Dallas.Oh Old show reunions,I cant stand those reunion shows that have all the actors and actresses in a circle talking about the series and voice overs on scenes of great moments of the show. They are so retarded and cheap.i know some actors are to old to reprise their rolls.Like the new Knightrider,Bionic woman ,these show were crappy remakes and died.I have not see much of the new Hawaii Five 0 to comment about it.
