Does anyone think that Coast to Coast AM might leave WPHT for WWIQ?

It seems to me this is a program which has run its course.

Given that WWIQ seems to have a deal to run Premier syndicated programs, it is likely that Coast-to-Coast will eventually join the family party at Merlin's Philly outlet.

But, who knows how long the Coast-to-Coast contract has to run at WPHT, and what CBS would put in its place? Certainly there are enough other overnight syndicated shows available, and they could re-run local daytime shows too, or really do it right and go live and local on PHT all night, just like the old days.

It seems to me this is a program which has run its course.

Coast is "something different" and they can get some interesting guests like physics professor Michio Kaku, or other well informed authors or experts. But then there are those nights when they are talking about "magical little people," Big Foot, or a hollow earth and you wonder who can listen for four hours. It is still on hundreds of stations and has millions of listeners and no real close challengers, although Cumulus is one big outfit that is trying with Red Eye. Still, Coast will probably be around for years. Syndicated shows can be cheap to produce, and as long as you have enough affiliates to cover those minimal costs you can stay in business. So when you start sliding with hundreds of stations, its likely to take a long time to get down to so few affiliates you can't afford to keep going.

As long as there is a 3rd / overnight shift C2C will have an audience. :D ;)

KRLD has a show they carry for the Texas State Network they run overnight. This could be something that both KDKA and WPHT could team up on overnight. And develop a network of stations in smaller town Pa. talking about issues about Pennsylvania in general.

This show isn't quite as crazy as when that Art Bell guy hosted it. Held up in his compound somewhere in Nevada. One got the feeling that he had had a first encounter with the little green men.

CBS has overnight programming that airs on KMOX and KDKA. I'd expect thi show to hit PHT at some point.

That's Overnight America with Jonathan Grayson. It also airs on WCCO Minneapolis. It had been on WBZ Boston, then was removed after listener protests. I think Dial Global recently started syndicating that show. It originates from KMOX St. Louis. :)
