I don't click on right-wing wacko sites. They have no credibility. I am not interested in anything they have to say. And I am not going to add to their hit count so they can sell ads. If you can't find a credible news source to cite, don't bother on my account.

PS: If you want to make snarky replies to me in response to something I post with which you disagree, that's one thing. If you make snarky insults about me in reply to other people's posts, you're crossing the line. Check the TOS.

Boo hoo. Crying "harassment"? You don't know what harassment is. No one has even come close in your case. You do this to yourself by doing things like you just did in this thread. If you'd actually read the story, you'd have found the entire uncut and in context Alan Colmes audio.
 
As someone who actually read the story and listened to the audio, I'm going to hazard a guess that Alan does his show prep with Media Matters and various similar sites, and took their word on what Rush said. Big mistake, of course.

You are assuming I care what Colmes says, or Rush for that matter. Whatever the quality of the source, I don't read articles about subjects that don't interest me. Colmes sold out by going to work for Fox and agreeing to be Hannity's designated punching bag. Rush sold out when he became a shill for the RNC.

So you don't care except that you demanded to hear the audio from Alan, then when told where to find it, you go into full backtrack mode.

Alan took the word of a group known to lie about Rush and got burned. Hopefully he vets his sources a little better next time.
 
I do not believe that Alan Colmes "sold out". Foxnews needs liberal commentators, and he was available. Nothing wrong with that. Same goes for Bob Beckel. If Foxnews didn't have any liberal commentators, then you'd have people pointing that out and whining about it.

Sad this country has become soo polarized where the good of the country is not looked at...only what is good for the folks in Congress......('Mr Smith Goes To Washington' or 'Advise and Consent' just doesnt work anyway)

I don't think anyone on this board is in any position to badmouth Alan Colmes. He's a radio legend.

Sure he just repeated the party line on Rush, but I'm not going to beat him up too bad over that. He's earned some leeway.
 
This is why talk radio is in such big trouble. Totally polarized audiences. You either love em or hate em. So you're blowing up 50% of your potential.

Talk radio is in trouble because the hosts just aren't as good as they once were.
 
Part of the problem is that more and more people primarily just want to hear opinions that echo theirs. At least on "hot-button" issues, there is little tolerance for differing opinions.

It's even more sad that even when it comes to radio commentary or discussions of radio commentary, the damned lie that either pole in a conflict must be wrong because only center holds the truth, rears its ugly head. The country is "polarized" because some people believe one side is right, and others believe the other side is right. And the truth is, one side is right, and the other side is wrong. The middle is simply half-right/half-wrong.
 
That's basically the way it is on radio, Facebook, Twitter or anywhere. My party is 100% pure as the driven snow, your party is 100% evil, depraved and worthless with no redeeming qualities whatsoever. The solution to all of our problems is the complete elimination of your party and my party having absolute one-party-rule. Once those evildoers who vote for the other party are vanquished once and for all, then we will have Utopia.

That's another aspect of the damned lie that only the middle has the truth. It is wrong to contend that the issue is "purity". It's not about whether a party is "pure as the driven snow". The issue is whether the political philosophy and principles of one side of the spectrum or the other are most likely to result in the best possible condition for people to live and flourish. It's not about either side doing "evil", it's about either side doing damn fool stupid things. The solution to our problems is to adopt the core principles that are most likely to be the best.

In short, it's between liberty or totalitarianism. It's between a free economy based on private enterprise on one hand and a government controlled and regulated command economy on the other hand. In the middle lies chaos.

BUT then not the same side is right EVERY time...so they are half right/half wrong....otherwise YOU are polarized in one direction and that is not what this country is about.....(which is why we are a representative Republic and NOT a Democracy...which eventually goes toward mob rule after 175-200 years...the Founding Fathers knew that...Ben Franklin, when asked what the delegates had decided on when they drafted the Articles of Confederation (per-Constitution) said "A republic....IF you can keep it"
