So it's got me wondering...

* Who on the board has a high-def radio?
* Is it really worth it?
* What's the best kind? (And are there other features to look for?)
* How much do they typically cost?

Glad you asked.....

Me.....I just got here from Miami with my Yamaha Home Theater Receiver...

Some obs:

WRDW-FM 96.5 is on the air with not 2, but *THREE* programs, "Wired" on HD-1, "Dash-2" on HD-2 (which is a clone of the Miami one, save for the imaging voice), and WWDB's audio on HD-3.

WXTU has obviously their "HD-2", and also a loop on HD-3 that features audio from KABC/790 in LA, a Metro Traffic broadcast from Philly, and newscasts from New York and Houston...They're outdated because they mention Villaraigosa as a "councilman" (isn't he mayor of LA already?), and traffic jams in Houston (didn't just about everyone evacuate?).

WSNI has HD-1 and HD-2, but it's the same program on both.

WPEN runs a reverb that is only really noticeable when fully engaged in Stereo.....I'm quite impressed with the sound, but it's a somewhat subjective area. Main problem is with the infomercials on the weekend coming from below questionable sources, I was hearing some pretty good sounding music, then some Goat Vitamin or somesuch infomercial came on, and, well, it was obvious it was on a cassette or maybe even a transcription. But the reverb stayed on at least.
