Comprehensive List Of Stations Still Airing the Soft AC/Easy Listening Format?

It's full service AC. I haven't listened to them except this morning, and WOMT seemed to be talk intensive. They also seem to mention a lot of sports programming that they do.

They refer to the station as WOMT 100, as they are celebrating 100 years on the air, with a total of $50,000 to be given away this year to listeners, along with free music concerts and events.

Im thinking of emailing them as to what they plan to do with their digital music library.

I see. By comparison, WEMP has been mostly music-based with relatively few commercials and almost no talk, save for IDs and the occasional weather forecast.

Ooo, I'm curious to know what you find if you decide to do that. There's lots of nice music in there, some of which I'm sure is rather difficult to find elsewhere, such as various Bonneville custom recordings that were never released commercially (I've found that some have since been published and are easy to find, but many others haven't, and as such high-quality versions remain difficult to locate anywhere).

I will wait until sign off to ask, and see if they reply back. My feeling is that in most cases, the station owner hangs onto it.

But it never hurts to ask....
 
I like how WEMP followed the Beautiful Music presentation the way most did it back in the day...the intentional pausing between songs and the intro/outro of talk breaks.

Although WEMP could have shortened the length when pausing. They do it a bit longer than necessary, to the point where I wonder if they got knocked off the air instead. Lol.

Few stations would give a digital library to a third party that is not a licensed station due to “music piracy” concerns. The station has no ownership rights to the music, and I’d be cautious transferring a library to an individual. Plus, there is work involved in copying the files… not what they want when changing formats..

Already taped about 3 hours of WEMP earlier this week, taping more tonight.
 
I've been taping at least a few days worth. WAY more than is ever needed, for sure, but I actually forgot about it until just now, so it just kind of happened.

Pretty much all the syndicators put the sec tones at the extreme end of songs and/or had longer deadrolls.

I wouldn't be surprised if WEMP just digitized the old reels and kept that timing intact.

Speaking of WEMP, it is now confirmed by Radio Insight that they'll no longer be broadcasting their easy listening format.

WOMT Adds Full Power FM Simulcast
 
The long pauses in between songs reminds me of WEVR in River Falls. Both of the KiwiSDRs seem to have major issues with bleed from locals, so WEVR is very hard to hear now unfortunately... but I have a lot of aircheck from the Kiwis via the 1550 AM broadcast. Soft AC with a few B/EZ instrumentals and a playlist that never left the Clinton administration.
 
This one may have been brought up before but I believe it deserves a closer look. CHBQ-FM The Lounge on Vancouver Island, has a playlist that's both contemporary and nostalgic. They have been around a long time with this more contemporary take on Adult Standards. I personally like it. What are your opinions on this?

"Affluent 50-plus" may be the truth, but advertisers aren't clamoring to reach them.
 
"Better Than Anything" by Natalie Cole and Diana Krall is an underrated classic. All the upscale food and NYC department store references..."Oh come on, what about the 30% off sale at Jimmy Choo's...and SAKS' FIFTH AVENUE FRIENDS AND FAMILY DAY?" Used to play a lot on 103.7 the Oasis in ABQ.
 

No steaming, additional cost and headache. George Baskos runs the station from his home in Longmont, CO. A friend keeps the day to day activities done remotely from Tennessee (JB). I was involved in a lot of the programming and they use a complete BV/BPI Ultra library and many, too many to list updates from my archival work. It’s a museum of Easy Listening and some American Standards mixed in. When George passes, he is 90 it is uncertain the future of KGUD. Likely despite a strong loyal listener base, community support it will vacate or change to some other format and not easy listening. -unfortunately
