Coors light 2010 Super Bowl of Rock-N-Roll

Good battle on the brackets on the link below. Radio Station 94.5 or rock945.com (website)
is doing this.. of course 98rock would never do something like this or play 1/2 this music.Anyways
the guy who started up Z-Rock in the 80s is PD and won the station of the year award and has been
the top rated rock station in the country for the past 2 years. New Music 1st.. always been saying that!

Anyways here is the link to the Super Bowl of Rock-N-Roll and the site:
http://www.rock945.com/pages/5984955.php

P.S. Big Rig.. Doubledown.. here is a clue to a better format and higher ratings!

You write as if this station is the very first radio station to pull something like this off, when in fact it is not. The now-defunct K-Rock (in New York, that is) held something similar. (And the only reason they're now defunct is because Stern left.)

I know of at least 4 stations that have done something like this over the years.. and IM sure many more has. I'm talking about something that 98rock doesnt do. Anything to get the listener involved and the music playist for a Active Rock station. WTF hour for big rig is a big joke.. Its the same songs any hour anyways.

The link and the station show they get the listener involved..they make the station fun to listen to..they play new music 1st and play the bands that the kids thur peeps in their 30s-early 40s like to hear!

Thunder did something like this about 10 or so years ago, obviously with classic rock bands instead of new rock bands.

Yep.. that was 1 of them also Z-Rock did it a couple times during the 80s into the 90s

WRIF out of Detroit has

WMMS out of Cleveland has

Im sure others. Everyones is alittle different. Like cleveland and detroit has Zepplin and Floyd in vs Metallica and Kiss.. While Z-Rock did from Poison,Def Leppard to Megadeth,Slayer.

98Rock was great back in the day..though I dont recall them doing this.. they had alot with the listener, such as....

They actually took some requests(that wasnt on their music rotation schedule)

They did 4gasam.. where you pick 4 of your favorite songs..(that could fit the 15-20min time slot) and they would give you 2 sound bits advertising your songs.

Bays 9 most wanted each day @ 9pm .... ( most stations back then did that)

and a few other things.

A good radio station of ANY format gets their listener involved in the station. KHTQ does this and their ratings show.
