They sound really good and reminds me of the 93q early days? This may be the best thing to happen to this market?

Even if they did, it would be to the younger end of the KRBE audience. 104 is still the leader in CHR and more importantly revenue. Hot has a long way to go to even be in the same picture as KRBE when it comes to revenue. I know that KRBE was 4th in 2007 in total revenue in Houston.
Snoman - I'm not sure where you work but my source at KRBE says business couldn't be better right now.

Hot 95.7 was:
KHJZ Smooth Jazz 95.7 The Wave Nov 2002-March 2008
KIKK-FM Country 1968-2002
KHUL Jazz 1959-1968
KKBQ 93Q-CHR was:
KYND Beautiful music (originally at 92.5 before moving to 92.9) Early 1970's till the time of 93Q.
KLVL-FM Spanish Not sure of the time frame.
AFTER 93Q CHR, KKBQ was Easy Listening Country 92.9, before becoming 93Q as country.
Other than having country formats at different times in their history, there are no other similarities.
If you want a thorough history of Houston radio, long time Houston radio personality Bruce Williamson (KILT, KIKK, KODA, KAUM to name a few) put together a great website:

KHJZ is actually using the old "disconnected operator" deal that 93Q used to use back in the day. "Doo-doo-doo. We're sorry. The number 1-0-4-1 has been disconnected. The new number is 9-5-7." And then there is 104's rebuttal...."Houston's Hottest Station, 1 million people can't be wrong". Reminds me of the 80's Top 40 wars more and more as time goes on.
