Could KDMX-Dallas pass as an Adult CHR?

We already have Clear Channel KHKS but sister station Mix 102.9 has recently been playing more CHR hits..Stereo Hearts, You Make Me Feel, Party Rock Anthem, B.O.B, Taio Cruz quite regularly..It's a good music mix and I enjoy them a lot better than KHKS or i93 lately..Are other HOT AC's sounding the same way lately?

KHMX Houston is going that route as well. However, they have a sister station, KKHH "Hot 95.7" that is a full fledge CHR and they're starting to sound very similar to each other.

Tons - probably about half the Hot AC panel I think - a lot of CBS Hot ACs have power rotation set at 80-100x a week

None of those artists are out of the ordinary for Hot AC. BOB may be pushing it, but that's all. They look pretty normal for a Hot AC to me.

As for KHMX, I don't know - they aren't doing well at all.

In Dallas sister CHR and Hot AC do well with the Cumulus CHR having the low ratings. While in Houston both CHR's stay neck and neck most the time with the Hot AC having the low rating. In Houston if KRBE wasn't there I think Mix would do better.

I haven't looked at the Hot AC charts lately on Mediabase but it doesn't surprise me to see Hot AC stations hitting more CHR stuff lately. Hot AC isn't exactly doing anything revolutionary these days like they were in the late '90s and early '00s during the Sarah McLachlan/Alanis/Train et al. days.

Not only that - in markets where the CHR is nearly Rhythmic, there's a huge hole for "adult CHR" (whereas five years ago most CHRs were more balanced, so Hot ACs didn't have the opportunity they do today)

In other words, in 2001, most teens listened to Rhythmic, and most "hip adults" listened to CHR - today, most teens listen to CHR, and most "hip adults" listen to Hot AC
