Mainly becuase of LA's huge population.
EMMIS couldn't make it work. KZLA was poorly programmed. To early on new music and a morning man who came from Talk radio with a strong New England accent and attitude - country listeners love that.
Did you read that quote from their GM? "We here to serve our ADVERTISERS"???!!!!
That's what's wrong with a lot of stations - they're not serving their LISTENERS!
Listeners first, advertisers will follow.
Somebody WILL make big money with Country in the LA market.

Jeffrey said:If I'm not mistaken it's not like the market is devoid of country music. The greater Los Angeles metro area has 2 rim shot stations that come in quite clearly.
