I have been predicting that a major player flipping to Country was inevitable. Hallelujah, it's finally happened! I don't wish KICKS anything but success, but I also wish the Bull great success. KICKS has had this market all to itself for 20 years, and they've not had to compete for listeners. Perhaps now the new owners at KICKS will get serious about their talent.
I cannot imagine that The Bull would consider hiring Moby as new/old morning guy. I cannot imagine that they'd ever consider ANY of KICKS' old morning people that KICKS got rid of. New tires are always better than retreads. Now, if The Bull will spend the money necessary to actually PROMOTE their morning show, it might do pretty well.
I think Caddy, Kristin and Jim should be pretty nervous about what the Bull does about mornings.
Ahhhh, I love the smell of COMPETITION

I also don't see the great white whale going to The Bull. You're right in many aspects, KICKS has been THE country station in Atlanta. I do wonder how The Bull will affect rimshots 106.1 WNGC and South 107. Both stations are trying to attract Atlanta listeners, even going as far as saying ATLANTA in their legal id's. Isn't South 107 trying to move their transmitter closer to Atlanta?

ABC Atlanta played the game that meant most sense. They will play a new game that suits the landscape.

I think the morning show at KICKS is what Bull should fear...some here malign them for some reason, but all three are rock solid and carry the heritage of the station. I think that Moby at the Bull would be a relief for KICKS

WTSH has a construction permit to move their transmitter from here to here, which is enough to get Marietta and Sandy Springs into the best part of the signal. However, until either station scores consistantly above a 0.0 in the city, they won't be paid attention to.

I don't think we'll hear Moby on the Bull. He doesn't fit the newer music any more. I wonder if we'll hear Big D and Bubba on The Bull in the mornings. CC has done this in other markets, notably at the Bull in Augusta, GA. The Bull is basically their Country brand. The mix of country music played depends on who they are attacking. In Atlanta it appears to me to be a "frontal" attack on Kicks, so the music is mostly current and nothing older than 1989.

Fear the KHX morning show?? Are you serious???
I think that is the main reason CC chose country is because KHX/Eagle are so weakly programmed/operated. The mornings on KHX are Soooo ripe for the picking....but if CC comes in with the wrong morning show(a decent bet)then Caddy might survive. Caddy, I'm told, is a class act.....you have to hope he can hold off the "Bulls."
As I said before, Rhubarb would do well if management would let Eagle really compete instead of hog-tying them to protect the KHX numbers. They should let Steve Mitchell have the programming stripes again....he was makin' some decent numbers when he was running things....let Steve really have the budget to go full tilt with Eagle.
You might be surprised at who wins that one!

This last post is too funny! Do you have any idea who "no1uno" is?

no1uno,just because they can print GENERAL MANAGER on a business card, doesn't mean you know what your talking about...
