Next question: if MyNet moves to KICU, what does that mean for KRON?
If LIN/Media General would ever see KRON losing the MYNET affiliation to KICU, then there could be a chance for LIN/Media General to give up on KRON ever since after acquiring it from the Media General/Young merger deal since KRON wouldn't fit right in at all with the combined LIN/Media General merger spectrum with all the ex former Young stations included as well.
LIN/Media General would be better off swapping out the would be turn independent for the 2nd time KRON to Sinclair for Sinclair swapping out WHOI/WYZZ, WICS-WICD/WRSP-WCCU, WLUC, WPBN-WTOM/WGTU-WGTQ, WEYI/WBSF, WKRC/WSTR, WWHO, WNWO, WTOV, WJAC, WSTM/WSTQ LD, WGME/WPFO, WCHS/WVAH, WRLH, and WTTA all to LIN/Media General in addition to LIN/Media General purchasing WHTM from the Sinclair-Allbritton deal so Sinclair can keep WHP while Nexstar can keep WLYH for years to come and go.
KRON fits better with Sinclair due to ownership of stations in Fresno, Bakersfield, Reno, Las Vegas and other areas close to KRON footprint while WHOI/WYZZ,
WICS-WICD/WRSP-WCCU, WLUC, WPBN-WTOM/WGTU-WGTQ, WEYI/WBSF, WKRC/WSTR, WWHO, WNWO, WTOV, WJAC, WSTM/WSTQ LD, WGME/WPFO, WCHS/WVAH, WRLH, and WTTA fits better with LIN/Media General due to ownership of stations where LIN/Media General already has presence or will have a presence close to those TV stations respective TV markets.
Fox could trade WTVT to Tribune for KCPQ/KZJO and WPHL while Cox could trade KIRO to CBS for WUPA and WTOG.
The trading and swapping of TV stations between LIN/Media General and Sinclair would allow Sinclair to purchase the Stainless Broadcasting Company TV stations from Brian W Brady even if Nexstar/Mission could not be able to purchase WICZ/WBPN LP in Binghamton, NY with Brady changing his mind to change and alter the deal with Nexstar and to decide to sell off KVTV in Laredo, TX and KYMA/KSWT in Yuma, AZ to Nexstar instead of attempting to sale off WICZ/WBPN LP to Nexstar/Mission. A Sinclair purchase of the Stainless TV stations from Brady would enable Sinclair to fully owned KAYU in Spokane, WA while being able to fully regain WSYT and WNYS from Brady with the FOX affiliation moving to the .2 of CBS stations KIMA in Yakima, WA, KEPR in Tri-Cities, WA, and KTVL in Medford, OR without any issues since all or the majority of Brady's TV stations have always been weak performers except for WICZ palling in comparison to the CBS stations Sinclair acquired over the years from the Fisher and Freedom acquisitions of TV stations in the Pacific Northwest.
