Hey gang long time no post... Gotta love it when your hard drive crashes!!! Anyway A few weeks ago I was down in good ole SC and wanted to give my thoughts on Carolina Radio... Anyway here we go... As me and my wife entered the Carolinas my wife knew that radio would be on the top of my mind... I start out with the upstate... For the most part things are still the same to me as they were before leaving SC to move up to the north... WESC still sounds solid, but it was not as good as it was before it was Clear Channelized... I really liked the Planet the weekend we came through they were doing an all 90's weekend which was kinda cool. Where my mom and dad live I can get The Planet like if it is a local station unless Z 93 is blasting in... The planet is a very good Active Alternative and I nhope that Entercom leaves it alone. B 93.7 sounded good, but was to sleepy sounding when I listened... I did not get to listen to Hot this time so I can't speak about it... Magic sounded good as well, but when I listened they seem to have had a big spotload of spots so I gave up on them... Whistle 100 sounded very good, but even my wife noticed the VTing which is not good... The stations that really stood out for me was The Walk I really like the nmix of music and was really impressed with them... I listened to Jamz for a bit and they sound very solid... My wife even liked some of the music that 107.3 was playing... As we moved to the midlands all I can say is that WXRY should be on a bigger stick... What a breath of fresh air... I could only pick it up for about 10 minutes, but damn that is one awesome station. The new kids on the block in 92.1 and 94.3 were pretty good listens as well, but I don't like the audio processing that double O uses for their respective stations. Me and my wife went to Ryans over on two notch road and I wanted to listen to legends and some of the music sounded like it was downloaded right off the net at a 64Kbps speed... Other that the audio which I really like to talk about they playede a lot of good "OH WOW" country tunes... One thing is for sure Doublr O has put some spark into WCOS because they sure sounded a lot better this time than they did when I was in SC last Oct. All I can say for The Beat is that it ani't my station... I loved it when it was SCQ with the mor format as well as JO, but it took me only 30 seconds and it was off to another station... DM still sounds like it did back in the 80's, but it works for them and very well amd it was a breath of fresh air to hear a decent playlist... as for HOT!!!!! Get rid of Wendy..... IC you are killing what was once a darn good hip hop station. Toby has WNOK sounding pretty tight... It is sounding more like a true CHR. It reminds me a lot of Z104 up in Madison WI... The station that really got my wife going was B106... When we listened she really liked the music, but she said the jocks were way to sleepy!!! In the coming days I will do a review of FLOTOWN, MYB and other tidbits... Glad to be back online and glad to be back home... BTW I hope the spelling ain't to bad as I do not have use of my screen reader yet due to my HD crash... CC
