Cruisin' 92.1 WVLT selling to The Voice Radio Network

From the other radio site... The Voice Radio Network (owns mostly Spanish stations in Delmarva and So. Jersey) announced today that they plan on buying Cruisin' and La Zeta for $350k.

Hmmm... I wonder if Cruisin's format will hit the brakes?

I tuned into the stream thinking this was an Oldies station, but they are doing political talk. Ugh! Is this one of those hybrid talk and Oldies stations like KIXI?

What is "the other radio site"? Since I know I'm the only one who published the story of WvLT's sale, you do know that these sites have been co-owned by almost two years now?

By policy, please provide links to stories from other sites when posting...

It is all oldies during the day but evenings are play for pay where you can buy time for any type of show, music or talk. Some fit the oldies format but some others unlistenable. The daytime is locally known oldies dj’s with good knowledge of Philadelphia oldies. This is the only station rimshotting the Philadelphia market with oldies anymore. There are several internet oldies stations geared to Philadelphia oldies, including Crown Sounds Radio run by dj ‘King Arthur’ who until recently was also live Sunday nights on WVLT.

Well, that's pretty much the last of the terrestrial oldies stations...it was a rimshot in Philadelphia but could still be heard. In Hamilton, NJ the signal was great during summertime tropo. Please no examples of the online Philly stations because it's not terrestrial so I don't count that. Time marches on, along w/ the money...I guess.

Agreed on others unlistenable...audio quality is all over the place on some shows with way overmodulated microphones.

Not that their list is anywhere near accurate or up-to-date, but Radio-Locator lists over 400 Oldies stations in North America.

My apologies. It was a mistake. I can't edit the post for some reason. I just meant it's down to almost nothing in NJ/Philly, especially in my listening area here in Hamilton, NJ.

I wonder if the new owner will keep some of the the brokered programming. It’s easy money in an otherwise declining medium, especially on a signal that mostly broadcasts to the forests of southern New Jersey.

Well that sucks. I think Oldies at this point is in smaller or nonrated markets .
Any idea how long until a LMA takes place? Will there be any goodbyes or is it programming as usual until the takeover.

This is truly heartbreaking. I grew up listening to Cruisin' 92.1. Will have to capture a lot of airchecks while we still can.
