"....option to pool media rights among all conferences"
Any network sports professionals here? What does that even mean? I think I get what it means/intends from a God's eye view, but who has the "option," the conferences or the entities who own team/league broadcast rights?
My guess is all conferences would love to have their games shown in geographical areas outside their footprint. That would mean more exposure, beneficial in both recruiting and rousting far flung alumi for donations. Networks and advertisers who've spent years cultivating associations/tie-ins regionally are bound to be less enthusiastic. Zaxby ads shown in MWC country where there are no Zaxbys?
Doesn't this exist to some degree already? I know on any given Saturday, I see B10 games on multiple networks, even their least desirable games like Ball St @ Purdue are on BTN.
