CT School Tragedy Bumps New Episodes Of "Family Guy," "American Dad"

Re: CT School Tragedy Bumps New Episodes Of "Family Guy," "American Dad"

As both episodes are holiday episodes, I won't be surprised if they were bumped until the 2013 holiday season. Reruns of these series are already scheduled for 12/23, which is probably still too soon after the massacre, and after that, the holiday season will be over and the specials will be irrelevant.

Re: CT School Tragedy Bumps New Episodes Of "Family Guy," "American Dad"

I am assuming that something in the episode somehow relates to guns or school children?

Re: CT School Tragedy Bumps New Episodes Of "Family Guy," "American Dad"

Will they air in Canada? A Buffy the Vampire slayer episode that was pulled off the WB after the Columbine massacre aired in Canada. Did the hurricane episodes air in Canada before they aired in the US? Why isn't the Cleveland show pulled also?

Re: CT School Tragedy Bumps New Episodes Of "Family Guy," "American Dad"

Also why doesn't Fox just show the new Cleveland Show up after Bob's Burgers and show the replacement American Dad rerun before the Simpsons?

Re: CT School Tragedy Bumps New Episodes Of "Family Guy," "American Dad"

They could also option to show the episodes next week (12/23) with the right amount of editing and whatever the editing curtails besides how many violent scenes are in each of these episodes.

Worse case scenario would be if those episodes went straight to DVD and these episodes weren't shown until Cartoon Network gets them.

Global, the normal rightsholder of "Family Guy" and "American Dad", will be simsubbing CBS's "Survivor" finale Sunday night. Don't know if they originally had plans to show "Family Guy" and "American Dad" on another night.

It was planned to air an hour earlier before Survivor, and right now their schedule shows they're still planned to air tomorrow night. I guess we'll see when the Canadians pop up and wonder why a repeat is on tomorrow.

Do they even show new episodes that close to Christmas? I wouldn't be surprised if this Family Guy ep goes to DVD like a few other unshown eps. Has CN ever aired any episodes before Fox? Do they even have the option to? The episodes on CN about a week or two after they air on Fox?

That episode of Family Guy is still on the global schedule, and now The Cleveland Show is showing on the schedule

When FG and AD or TCS are scheduled reruns on Fox, does Global air the same reruns?

TitanTV also still has those episodes scheduled on Fox

Usually -- Canadian networks, Global included, would rather draw their schedules based on the US networks, all in the name of simsubbing. It doesn't matter if it's a new episode or a repeat. Also, if an episode suddenly gets pre-empted or replaced on an American network, the Canadian network will replace it too with whatever the US channel is showing -- again, for simsubbing purposes.

Re: CT School Tragedy Bumps New Episodes Of "Family Guy," "American Dad"

It used to be that the US networks didn't feed the Canadian networks copies of the shows that were to air in Canada until the day of their airing in the US, or maybe one or two days beforehand. I'm not entirely sure how it's done now, but I believe they have gone to some sort of IP/internet method (I suppose Fox could do satellite, though, since all their distribution feeds are encrypted). Anyway, it's quite likely that Global never even received the new episodes of the shows that were yanked and so couldn't air them even if they wanted to. And even if they did want to, I have to imagine Fox would object, knowing that in this day and age the episodes would be widely pirated on the internet.

Re: CT School Tragedy Bumps New Episodes Of "Family Guy," "American Dad"

Just an update, it looks like The Simpsons and Bob's Burgers will likely have a future re-air too. They are running on the main Fox feed, which some stations (mostly likely the ones without news departments) are running, but judging from Twitter, the majority of Fox stations are going with an alternate FNC with Fox logo feed airing the Newtown memorial service instead in primetime.

Also confirmed; Global did opt for the Family Guy rerun fed out from Fox tonight.

ETA - All Fox stations were routed to Newtown coverage at 8:33pm on the main feed, so BB is definitely gone for the night.

Re: CT School Tragedy Bumps New Episodes Of "Family Guy," "American Dad"

Coverage of tonight's memorial service with President Obama in Newtown, CT:

FM Radio Coverage: Connecticut Public Radio, WZMX-FM 93.7 Hartford, WTIC-FM 96.5 Hartford and WPLR-FM 99.1 New Haven

AM Radio Coverage: WCBS-AM 880 New York City and WTIC-AM 1080 Hartford

TV: WFSB-TV 3-1 Hartford (CBS), WFSB-TV 3-2 Hartford (Eyewitness News NOW), WTNH-TV 8-1 (ABC) New Haven, WVIT-TV 30-1 New Britain (NBC), WVIT-TV 30-2 New Britain (NBC Weather Plus), WTIC-TV 61-1 Hartford (FOX) [FOX National Feed stretching picture to fill 16:9] and NECN [New England Cable News, based in Newton, MA]

As observed only 33 miles away in New Britain, CT :'(

Will the new episodes of The Cleveland Show, The Simpson's and Bob's Burgers air on the west coast tonight? What did they show in Canada? What will Global show if the funeral continues into when the Family Guy replacement rerun was scheduled? I guess Fox could show those next week since they currently have reruns scheduled but since the days close of Xmas don't have a lot of viewers I assume they'll probably just show Cleveland Show and Bob's Burgers next Xmas and just show The Simpsons ep sometime in winter/spring 2013 if they don't air on the West coast.

We'll see, but remembering from the ALCS/X-Factor disaster of two months back, Fox will probably not want a repeat of that incident. Since next week is all-repeats, expect them to just bump everything a week to the 23rd and just feed the West Coast repeats instead for tonight.

The episode aired an hour ago on Global, it was a repeat so it's all done.

The days right before Christmas are so little viewed I think they'll just have reruns again but it looks like they've joined Bob's Burgers already in progress.

Re: CT School Tragedy Bumps New Episodes Of "Family Guy," "American Dad"

They aired the Family Guy replacement rerun in full, now they're running the American Dad replacement rerun in full.
