He was a board op for Salem. My source (who use to work there) tells me he (if KyMedia is who he thinks he is) worked one day a week and for less than a month before he split. He also said that KyMedia new his stuff and had his pulse on the business of radio but was an awful board op. Always on his cell phone (my biggest grip about board ops) and didn't really keep an eye on stations. Thats not a rare thing with those who focus on the business side of this medium. Yes they can rattle off call letters of every station in every market and tell you the direction the tower transmits but they can't run a board.

Okay, to clarify a few things. I was an senior sales rep for WGTK as well WDJX. And I was an operations manager in a few markets, plus worked in programming and at one point about 15 years ago...a board op! That my find friends was before the days where you could hold a cell phone to your ear and anyone barely notice you were holding it. Those things were the size of compact cars!

So whoever your "source" at WGTK is, they are sorely mistaken.

I would put some stock in what kentuckymedia said first off if mainline wanted the 105.1 signal they would have blown it up into something else by now or put more jocks on the air or something but they have done none of that anyone knows that station is a failure and will always be one until someone flips it therefore common sense tells you they are looking to sell it now i bet and as far as as the 103.1 flip to 103.9 makes sense to me they have not built the tower yet. We shall see my friends. If i had to choose between 105.1 or 93.1 to buy it would be 93.1 i can pick that up a little easier then 105.1. I can't even get 105.1 on my clock radio but can get 93.1

I'm saying that the attempts to marginalize this kid are a waste of time. He has his sources and for now seems able to get information from them.
