D.H.T. Reaches #1 on Radio and Records CHR/Mainstream Chart

Now if only more stations would quit being such pansies and play the dance version instead of the ballad...
______________

Most radio stations play the ballad over the dance mix because it's what "tests" well with their audiences. If the vast majority of the CHR listening public wanted to hear the dance mix, then that's what stations would be playing. It's quite simple actually. The song is also starting to get lots of exposure on Hot AC stations as well, and that would NEVER have happened with the dance version.

As it's been said before, let's just be happy Robbins has got yet another major hit on their hands.
______________

> I honestly dont know even ONE person who prefers the Ballad version over the Dance Version, in fact, most girls I know change the station, if the ballad version comes on. Im not buying into this,,, Ballad version is what tested, and what everybody wants to hear crap,, I mean how was everyone tested, did they go door to door, play both versions to every person in the city, and ask which version they liked???? NO... The reason the Ballad version tests, is because thats all they ever heard, they dont realize that their is a Dance version, and they think the Ballad is the Original, and only. The dance version didnt test, because most stations are too conservative to play it, you have to play it to test it.

I agree 100%, I give Robbins, and DHT both 5 Stars, for doing the impossible. I bought the CD single of it. Im just happy that a Dance Artist is selling records, and on the charts. There is nothing wrong with the Ballad version, for HOT AC and AC stations, or maybe spiked in once in a while on a chr, but at least play both versions, using the Ballad verison as the Default, just makes the station seem very Anti Dance, since the Furious EZ Mix, is supposed to be the Default version. I give Extra Props to the CHR stations with even Bigger Ballz, that played the HARD BOUNCE mix, like KSME 96.1 in Fort Collins Colorado, and WLKT 104.5 Lexington, and Zone 106.1 Norfolk.

You're actually not too far off on this one.

I have received diaries to fill out, but never any phone calls, regarding to what I like, or what I listen to, not with Dance as an option.

how bout to the station that started the song, WIOG. if we would have played the dance song HERE. it would have gone down the toilet faster than you can sneeze. then other stations picking up the ballad version gave everyone else the vision to check out the cd pro and pick which version was the hit for THEIR station.

i love dance music as much as anyone on this side of the globe but im not going to compromise my stations ratings for my love of dance. and id guess robbins is excited to no end to have a #1, regardless of how it got there. the second single from DHT is tailor made for CHR. with some luck and hard work the whole cd could be 4 singles deep at the format. its refreshing to have something with that much substance thats not on one of the mega labels.

CHR generally targets female, I may be mistaken but your posts lead me to believe you are male. If that's the case, that's probably why you've never been asked to participate. I'm not trying to dis you or anything, just trying to give you a little insight as to why the ballad made the song a hit and not the dance mix. Trust me, I wish the dance mix was the hit just as much as you do.
______________

How bout to the station that started with the dance version back in late February ... WXXL XL1067 Orlando. They were the first one to play the dance version I believe in the country. They scrapped it for the ballad in May, However after just a couple of months brought back the dance version and its getting still around 100 spins a week.
