D.I.Y. Building AC Power Monitor

It was OK, It's just not easy watching if you've ever witnessed a few "malfunctions".

I mean, I enjoyed it like postal worker would enjoy a slow motion video of an enraged Doberman working on someone's face.

I don't much like circuit breaker panels or plugging loads live. I'm a fuse kinda guy.

Ahh I hear ya. I don't like it either. When I saw the 400-amp breaker popped, I stood there with my mouth open like, "Are you kidding me?". I was afraid to reset it. I was like what in hell could cause this to trip without there being a smoking crater somewhere a piece of equipment used to be? Well it turned out to probably be a brownout. But at the time I was looking around for a 2x4 and a small plastic garbage can to put over my head to reset it. I even put foamy earplugs in. =-)

But then I was like oh hell what am I thinking? There's a transfer switch to go between the main utility feed & the backup, so I just flipped that, reset the main breaker, then closed my eyes and flipped back, and there was no flash & bang and I'm still here. =-)
