Dale Woods Takes on th VP of Television at Block Communications

After a tenure in Music City plagued with steep ratings declines for its local newscasts, Dale Woods in October 2019 packed his bags and headed to Louisville.

One year later, he’s getting a promotion from his current employer, Block Communications.

According to a source close to the matter, Woods will now serve as VP of TV Broadcasting for Block.

This will put Woods in charge of not only Block’s three Louisville stations, but also NBC affiliate WAND-TV in Decatur, Ill.; and the ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX affiliates serving Lima, Ohio — WLIO and WOHL.

From Oct. 1, 2019, Block has served as President/GM of the FOX, MyNetwork TV and CW affiliates serving the Kentucky city: Block Communications’ WDRB-TV, WBKI-TV and WBKI-DT3, the MyNetworkTV home.

According to the article Dale Woods was at WSMV prior to being the GM of WDRB Louisville is going to take on the lead role as VP of TV.
