Dallas Fox Station Fakes Crime On The News

I could see doing this in a special. On the news? That's not what "news" is for. Sounds to me like they're trying to sway public opinion.

On the other hand, the bill Watkins champions could certainly reduce the possibility of false positive IDs in perp lineups. But that's not a topic for this forum.

Mediaite linked to Uncle Barky's column about the experiment. I have to agree with him - at least different is refreshing, even if it's not your cup of tea. Better than tired, stale stories (and NBC 5).
 
It was good visual way of engaging the viewer in a story that could be a very dry and non-visual story. Kudos to them for doing something different.
