Dallas Stars reunite with KDFW/KDFI, announces select games will air OTA on those channels on top of Victory+

Today, the Dallas Stars and Fox O&O KDFW & KDFI announced they reached a deal to air a few games on KDFI More 27 and KDFW Fox 4, making the first time in a long time Stars hockey will air on the Fox O&O duopoly stations, it will be a total of 4 games that will air on the 2 stations during the remainer of the season, Victory+ will still stream those 4 games at the same time to insure those in other markets in Texas can see the 4 games airing on KDFI/KDFW.

the 4 games are:
March 20: Stars vs. Tampa Bay Lighting on KDFI More 27
March 24: Stars vs. Minnesota Wild on KDFW Fox 4
April 3: Stars vs. Nashville Predators on KDFI More 27

I've watched more Stars games this season than in the past 5 seasons because of Victory+
Good to see games on broadcast TV too. I do note that the ads on 27 are different from those on Victory+ tonight.

In the late 80's, when the Minnesota North Stars games were on broadcast television, the station I was working for at the time (KVRR/KNRR/KBRR) did not have the Canadian rights to the games so while the game aired on the Fargo and Grand Forks stations, I ran the cover movie on KNRR, much to the displeasure of our Canadian audience. The North Stars were terrible that season but it was hockey and the Canadians were interested in it. I seem to remember that this was all games, not just the ones against Canadian teams.

That’s an interesting situation. I take it this was for a direct feed to cable companies in that part of Canada?
