Damon Amendolara overnights on CBS Sports incl 98.5

http://www.cbsradio.com/single-press/1876

>>CBS Sports Radio today announced Damon Amendolara as host of the network’s weekday overnight show. His new program, “The D.A. Show,” which will debut Wednesday, January 2, 2013, upon the launch of the network, will be heard on select stations from 2:00-6:00 AM, ET on-air, streaming online and through the Radio.com application for mobile devices. Amendolara, known by his fans as D.A., joins the network from CBS RADIO Boston’s WBZ-FM “98.5 The Sports Hub,” where he has served as evening host since the station’s launch in August 2009.
WBZ-FM Boston

The press release mentions affiliates; I would think "KFNQ" formerly KPTK Seattle may be added.
Also it mentions WFNZ Charlotte; not sure but this may be the 1660 with the famed calls
WBCN, currently conservative talk

So what about JT The Brick then? Not on in Boston?

--If there's no room for Fox on 98.5 does CC put Fox Sports on 24/7 on 1200? I did say I was pretty sure comedy stays there but "what about sports"--one reason it seems farfetched is a glut of
sports now in town. But if CC wants to clear Fox Sports...
Just a theory!
--or does WEEI put JT on their FM and keep the ESPN content on the AM, overnight?

My guess is that WBZ-98.5 will carry syndicated fare from CBS Sports Radio to replace Damon Amendolara's local evening show.

In fact, I fully expect Toucher and Rich to be bumped from morning to afternoon drive to clear a national morning show from CBS Sports Radio (which I suspect will be the current WFAN New York morning show with Boomer Esiason and Craig Carton), and that afternoon hosts Mike Felger and Tony Mazzeroti will find themselves bumped (or possibly dumped altogether).

Come January 2nd, I expect "The Sports Hub" on weekdays to be 216 hours a day of CBS Sports radio programming and only 8 hours a day (10 A.M.-6 P.M.) local programming.

Boy, that sure is one looong day! ;D

98.5 will stay local 6am-6pm. and probably 6am-11pm. CBS Sports network may find a spot on HD Radio sub channel.
I think JT the Brick will find his way back to 93.7 FM. Dont think ESPN overnight has to be on both 850 and 93.7

I hope that too

The CBS Sports Radio Network wasn't designed to replace programming in top 10 markets. That's not the way CBS operates, anyways. It'll run overnights.

CBS putting a CBS show on their stations is not a big deal. JT being on the Sports Hub the entire time they went on the air and helping them beat WEEI was a big deal.

If they're smart, they'll put Gresh into DA's spot and replace him with.....almost anyone. The loudmouthed Gresh is the only thing keeping Muttnansky from being buried in the ratings. As bad as Muttnansky is, Gresh is worse. I still contend that Muttnansky is related to someone high in the organization. Either that or Jason Wolfe won't admit he made a mistake.

Art, agree with you 100%. Should have left DAle and Holly and the Big Show pretty much alone. Glen and Holly dont have the chemistry on-air that Felger and Mazz have. JT should found a home in Boston real soon after Jan.2. Boston is probably his biggest major market.

If not 93.7, maybe CC would take 1200 to Fox Sports though again there's a sports glut and they may well stay comedy. Could even stay comedy and still run JT at night to clear it!

It's a great thing your not a pd. your ideas on radio are terrible.

They already have said they are hiring someone else to replace D.A. They are not about to go
syndie on weeknights. Neither is WEEI-FM; both stations will stay local in evenings.

National morning show? Heck they may as well carry Imus if they do that :) Morning drive
is crucial. It's why Wolfe let the I-man go to 96.9 and D&C went to mornings. LOCAL.

That is one of the most ridiculous things I have seen --is it April 1st?--posted. The Sports Hub's
deal is to be local. They will run CBS Sports Net overnight, maybe a little on weekends, but I'd
think they'd rather have 1200 (deal to have CC run them) run some weekday network shows or not run it at all...is it April Fools?--what's next, they switch WODS to elevator music, WZLX to conservative talk...about as likely, sorry, as your theories. Just saying.

My cell phone says it's November 18. Whew. Thought I'd overslept and it was April Fools.

please, dear god, don't let it be Pete Sheppard. He's under contract to WEEI again, I'm guessing? Would Meter be a possibility? Or would they go outside the market and bring someone in. Should be interesting.
