Damon Amendolara overnights on CBS Sports incl 98.5

Meter evenings?

Depends on if he had a contract with WEEI that had a "non-compete"...and how long it would be in effect.

Might be interesting to see what Meter would do with a show of his own.

As for Pete Sheppard...I've always liked his passionate on-air style. Yeah...maybe a little over-the-top, but it keeps me listening.

a little over the top and not the best diction, either. Awhile back, he did a fill-in for the Sox "rewind" show on WEEI and it was painful, especially for late night.

by the way, I really like Rob Dibble's show on Fox that runs before JT. Way better than Tony Bruno, who he replaced.

My guess is that WBZ-98.5 will carry syndicated fare from CBS Sports Radio to replace Damon Amendolara's local evening show.

In fact, I fully expect Toucher and Rich to be bumped from morning to afternoon drive to clear a national morning show from CBS Sports Radio (which I suspect will be the current WFAN New York morning show with Boomer Esiason and Craig Carton), and that afternoon hosts Mike Felger and Tony Mazzeroti will find themselves bumped (or possibly dumped altogether).

Come January 2nd, I expect "The Sports Hub" on weekdays to be 216 hours a day of CBS Sports radio programming and only 8 hours a day (10 A.M.-6 P.M.) local programming.

Any way to bump you or possibly dump you off these boards?

I was really hoping Sports Babe would get the national overnight clearance on CBSRN.

A couple tweets from Mr John Tournour, aka JT The Brick

>> Our show has been #1 in Boston for 16 years at night on 2 stations. We have never been better. All good and great things continue to happen
Retweeted by Boston

>>@johnnyace11 we have a plan in Boston and are fortunate to be on 250 other stations, XM169 and @iHeartRadio. These are good problems to have

A plan...WEEI-FM? Or a possible "Fox Sports 1200"? We shall see

Art, agree with you 100%. Should have left DAle and Holly and the Big Show pretty much alone. Glen and Holly dont have the chemistry on-air that Felger and Mazz have. JT should found a home in Boston real soon after Jan.2. Boston is probably his biggest major market.
I can understand why they moved Holley. The old Big Show format, with four people yelling at once, wasn't working anymore. What I found incomprehensible was the replacement of seasoned pro and loyal soldier, Dale Arnold with a wet behind the ears, nerd. Especially because Merloni isn't a broadcast pro, but an ex-jock. Muttnansky hasn't improved. He's still the overmatched geek trying to sound like one of the "cool kids". And he makes the mistake that all of the bad ones make. He tries to be funny.......and he just isn't. I try to listen every so often, if there's a big story, but about twenty minutes is all I can stand. A lot of times I will turn on WEEI just before Ordway and Holley and they're doing some wrap-up to their show with clicking and gurgling sounds in the background. Every thing about that little geek annoys me.

If 98.5 moves Gresh to evenings and puts in almost any one of their weekend guys, or if they grab Pete Shepard or Minihane, they will own mid-day by a mile. Even the message boards that are made up of WEEI haters (like SoSH) always said that the best show on was Dale and Holley. I contend that Muttnansky is related to someone in a lofty position at Entercom.

Your mutnansky obsession is a little weird

Aren't non-competes illegal in Massachusetts?

It's not an obsession, it's hatred. My job is to be a grouchy old man, and I take it seriously.

They were talking about replacements for DA on Fleger and Mazz this afternoon. Looks like they might promote one of their part-timers or 'headlines' guys like Rich Keefe, Marc Bertrand or might bring in someone like Jermaine Wiggins (who was on and openly said that he wanted the job). I doubt they would bring in someone from the outside or a 'big name'.

I think a Bertrand and Wiggie show would do well, especially since they are known and would get some good cross over numbers from Felger and Mazz.

I bet CBS does clear the show in Tampa on AM 1010.

With that said I figured CBS would give the the gig Damon Amendolara just got to the Sports Babe.

JT claims his show has been on in Boston for 15 years. He might be right, but to his credit he was on WEEI when they crushed everyone and the entire time the Sports Hub launched and beat WEEI. That is a track record. He should find a home and if not, I have XM/Sirus.

He was on in Boston through three different networks, and definitely longer than 15 years -- probably closer to 17 or 18. The guy has a loyal following. He's reined it in a tad with Looney as his sidekick in recent years, which has made his show more listenable.
