Dan Frishberg's BizRadio show is headed to Biz 880 in Miami?

Chuck Gallagher said:
It appears that Dan Frishberg is taking his show to Miami - not saying he's leaving Houston, but Miami folks don't know him as well as the folks in Houston - especially those who were scammed into investing into BizRadio - Dan's famous loss leader. The story is here...

Why not relate Frishberg's past to a business reporter at "The Miami Herald"?

I would bet that it has something to do with Florida law...or lack thereof. Anyone ever noticed that all the work-at-home scams and other come-ons are based in Florida? It's akin to Delaware's laxed credit card laws, where all the major banks set up their credit-giving offices in Delaware to take advantage of a state they've obviously bought and paid for.

This reminds me of Brother Robert Tilton...after he screwed over the North Texas crowd, he laid low for a short time, then popped up on obscure cable channels and hawked his salvation services to a new, unwitting audience nationwide. At least with the internet nowadays, those who even bother to can easily check out someone's reputation--or lack thereof.

While we're on the subject of scam relocations, why is it that every scam-type business that started and failed in Dallas always seems to make its way to Houston, and thrives there? Mattress shops, brake and muffler repair, two-bit electronic stores, deep-discount retailers who sell shoddy crap, certain restaurants, etc...they are all alive and well in Houston. I'd hate to make a stereotypical statement and say that Houstonians are more gullible that Dallasites, but then again, based on personal observations of these businesses, their "presence" and their marketing strategies, I'm reminded of commercials I used to see in the 80s on WGN-Chicago and WOR/WWOR-New York via cable. Screaming, in-your-face, YOU-WON'T-EVEN-BELIEVE-THIS! kind of crap...and, after the c. 1980 mass migration of "Yankees" into Houston, this marketing "plan" followed them there. Am I totally off base here?

Again, call The Miami Herald, one of the nation's great newspapers.

Not only is Dan's show now in Miami, but it is featured in prime time drive time in Atlanta. Both stations are Salem Communications stations. Something is strange here. Thoughts?

As noted in another thread, it appears Salem is rolling out a business format nationally...

Is there really any interest or revenue available for business radio?

Twenty-five years ago, when I wrote speeches for the Texas executives of Southwestern Bell (now AT&T in downtown Dallas), I asked a few about business radio. Not one was interested it in or even once listened to it.

They were wired to cable in their offices and were watching the stock market on such channels as CNBC. By the time most of those guys left, the stock market had been closed for hours.

In addition, the business radio stations I have heard, even in LA in the past, sound lousy.
