as a warwick resident i can tell you he is and he really doesn't try to hide it. don't know if yorke mentioned it though. why would he? does he think he's privee to some scoop?
Dan Yorke was talking about Mayor of Prov. and just happened to say that Mayor Aved. was gay too but didn't flaunt it, Evidently, the look on the other guys faces led him to believe that he had just outed the Mayor of Warw. Hence, the apology.
Earlier this week. Dan was talking about the interview. Jim Taricani & Bill Rapply did with the current Mayor of Providence. And how they dodged asking the mayor. If he attended an adult entertaiment business. On Allens Avenue in Providence. It was mentioned that the current mayor is cracking down on prostitution in those establishments. But isn't doing anything about the gay clubs in that area.

Did you hear the show, i did. I think Dan Y is a Bigot. I also think on Saturdays there is a show Radio Girlfriends- that show is not Bigoted. Maybe there should be a change. I think this situation will get serious.

To repeat myself from numerous other threads.....I DON"T WORK THERE ANYMORE...and to elaborate a little more, I worked for the FM and sister station Lite 105 after telemedia bought from Cap Cities (a day in infamy)

Yes; but that does not mean he is going to get fired over these comments, IN MY OPINION (and last time I checked, this being America, I'm free to have my own opinion and express it) no I don't think so because the only place I see it being talked about is here....not in the paper, not in the pheonix, not on TV news, not on Public Access....I may have missed different parts of the piece being talked about; but what I heard is not grounds to fire him.

you are dead wrong. Not grounds to fire him? Outing someone on the air? The station of record? You can't have it both ways. You can't say he is a serious host and then have him announce who he thinks is gay and who is not. What if he is wrong? What if he is right but is is personal and private for the mayor of Warwick. Who will he announce next?
Look at who has been fired in the past few years, and now compare it to York. When is it ok to "out" an elected public official?
I read on-line he then said" is he not out of the closet yet?" This is the gay version of "are you still beating your wife"?

I hear Dan York's personnel file is getting thicker these days. There may be other problems brewing on "The Trail."
In a day when Radio stations have no problem firing a Legend such as Imus, do you really believe that a little local guy like Yorke isn't in the line of fire too? He's just as vulnerable as the next guy.
If you want to get Yorke fired, you don't complain to the station. You should always direct your complaints to the corporate headquarters. They are the ones who have no emotional stake in the guy. They don't have to see his face every day. They haven't become friends with him. To the Corporate offfice he is just a name on a long list of employees all across the country. In Las Vegas the name Dan Yorke doesn't mean Jack Squat. Once they are alerted of a problem just watch what happens.
Yorke has some problems ahead of him if this story gains momentum like the Imus story did. I hope he went to Church today, because he needs to start praying.

If anybody in that building is talking, that gives Dan Yorke more firepower to be a big pain in the arse if he ever did get fired, which again I don't think he will, because somebody is flapping their gums and in HR land, that is a big no-no....almost as bad as asking a pregnant woman being considered for a new job how long she is thinking of taking on leave....
