If you want to get Yorke fired, you don't complain to the station. You should always direct your complaints to the corporate headquarters. They are the ones who have no emotional stake in the guy. They don't have to see his face every day. They haven't become friends with him. To the Corporate offfice he is just a name on a long list of employees all across the country. In Las Vegas the name Dan Yorke doesn't mean Jack Squat. Once they are alerted of a problem just watch what happens.

Yorke has some problems ahead of him if this story gains momentum like the Imus story did. I hope he went to Church today, because he needs to start praying.

John, did you hear the comments in question live? You have said numerous times in other threads that you don't listen to Pro anymore....this is totally different than the Imus situation, especially because Rev Jesse and Rev Al have no stake in it. It appears that you are never happy unless you are poking the beehive with a stick....

I hope you're wrong about "Health Issues". Dan is my family's favorite.
Had dinner guests yesterday..half way thru my brother asked if anyone listened to Dan...Every hand went up with the exception of two
cousins who had jobs that didn't allow radios in house. From that moment on we had no problem with conversation as we talked all
about Dan's program. WE LOVE HIM!!!!
So, in our eyes, Dan is not allowed to have any "health issues"
 
he was ranting today that cowards hide on the internet. Why doesn't he replay his remarks about the mayor of Warwick?
I guess cowards hide in radio studios. Can you imagine how bad it is that York won't replay his comments?
He said it. He should be a man and stand behind it. What a coward. Only in Rhode Island where it is small-time.

This isn't the only message board where Yorke's name pops up but that's besides the point. Frankly I agree with the remark about cowards. I realize I post anonymously but I'm not one of the ones here who slam or get personal. With anonymity comes responsibility in my eyes & if I choose to remain anonymous then I avoid the nastier stuff. John I know theoretically in spite of using a handle you're not anonymous.

And you are the "poster of record"? You jab and jab away at this and your personal agenda against WPRO & Dan comes forth more and more. Why don't you stand before your comments...oh, that's right, it is easier to stand behind the curtain and act like the Wizard of Oz....

yoyo...join up with jointchinese as another nameless, faceless person railing against windmills. Until you come clean with a name (I have to admit it, Skynet/John at least puts his name out there). You want Dan to stand up and be a man, why don't yoo do the same.
 
I heard the Craigs List and RI Futures crews are working this story. Libel and Slander
thats what goes on those sites. Have any other papers picked up the story?

SOMEBODY needs to say this, so I will: Discussing something as personal as Dan's health here seems REAL inappropriate. What-comes-out-the-speaker is fair game, but some things ought to be off-limits.
 
Holland the person (name is joint :D ) who speculates in shades of dull gray about rumors at WPRO re: Yorke's health is the same one who claimed rumors at WPRO re: Raina Smith joining Yorke's show. I'll still laughing heartily about that one. There are posters here with rather obvious health issues of the mental variety. Never seen so much chat about a non-issue. Lots of mindless drone on this thread. Yorke didn't say anything inappropriate and there is no controversy about this anywhere. Just internet background noise by people jealous of Yorke's radio forum.
Someone needs to say this so I will - amazing how many people who claim to care about radio are more than happy to censor/remove those in the business who don't share their politics.
Scary and mindless!

In another context here, JointChinese has been supportive of whatever-it-was-that-I-wrote at the time.
But I do think it's inappropriate for him/her to raise such personal stuff.
This space CAN be a valuable forum for shoptalk.

Not that I'm optimistic we'll ever be drivel-free here...nor non-aonymous. Much of what's posted here wouldn't surface if we all had to sign our names. So a smaller conversation would have less value. Admittedly, useful content here competes with all the crapola. Think of it as "overhead," the price of admission to what is often more-useful dialogue here. Like static between stations, y'know?

Holland please reread my post. I'm not implying you were the source of the Raina Smith rumor or any other rumor for that matter. It's our friend joint who's the bogus WPRO rumor king.
