Dance music going into the mid to late 2010s (twenty-teens)

As we're headed into the middle and later 2010s (twenty-teens), or perhaps the early 2020s, I was wondering whether the current state of dance music in general as a whole is expected to stay similar in the near future or is there something new developing soon in this genre(s)? I'm very curious to read any professional opinions/remarks/editorials from long-time posters/enthusiasts and others as well who have been in or around the industry for sometime to give some insight from what had occurred in the past to current experiences reflecting what the future may bring. This is an open-ended topic, so there is no 'wrong' answer, but I'd like to hear your thoughts and feelings on where you think dance and it's many sub-genres are headed a little bit down the road.

Speaking for the minority on here........

I personally think many have had their fill of Trance, Electro, Dubstep and the sound-alike music of David Guetta, Skrillex and others. WHOM CONTINUE TO TURN OFF AS MANY AS THEY TURN ON. Burned outers are longing for the OLDer sound or new songs that bring back that sound (Dance, House). These songs many of which sample retro HITS are being made, but it's hard for them to get a foot in the door when it's blocked by a 400 pound Electronica mess......and Dance lovers who can only enjoy and are satisfied with "the song of the moment" instead of the classic of tomorrow.

We have to open the door wider or get rid of this Electronica mess to really be taken seriously again IMO, and that day is getting closer.

Well now...okay. Let's see, I'm going to post something here since it appears as of 12/11/2013 at 6PM EST, radiodiscussions.com is back up and running again--at least for the moment. I'm posting to see if all systems are a go. I logged in successfully--I wonder whether the site is up only to retrieve archives or something...or perhaps changing hands or a change of heart. Whatever the case, I'd like to thank those who were able to see my thread (since I started it in the Dance music section) and responded with their comments and hope that either in this one(?) or on another site that whoever you may be will continue the World Wide Vibe.

Well, now, ya know, see there?!? I found out that these boards are back up again after I (and probably many others) had given up that this site would ever return, but here we are again. Anyway, glad to see apparently that my thread is getting some responses. I share similar sentiments with a couple of posters regarding getting back to basics. As a long time lurker and recent poster, I kept up on the trends of dance music in general by lurking on this and other sites that I was able to find and that came to my attention. I began posting b/c I noticed that before the abrupt shutdown and subsequent scattering of avid posters that the dance forum wasn't quite as active last year (2013) as it was the year before and some longtime posters were no longer posting (talking) as much or at all as before. I wondered whether if it is the current dance music craze (or whatever you would refer to it) now finally satisfied the long-awaited cravings of my fellow dance fans or if it were different reasons. My other previous post relating to the dance webcasters list that was usually posted here every so often (last posted in 2011) reflected the lack of, obviously, a new updated list, but the slowdown and sluggish postings of new topics here. I appreciated the suggestions and responses from that thread and this one and I'm eager for more insight about the future of this genre.
