Has Dave retired, or is still working some in Palm Springs?

He's still there - evenings at KWXY, a beautiful music station. I heard him just last month. ( pic at www.kwxy.com ). He sounds like a kindly, neighborly gentleman, quite different from the hi-energy, irreverant "Hullabalooer!"

Batman, I'm glad it wasn't the Stately Manor that actually burned! Dave Hull was the best! Remember him at KGBS, and got the pleasure to work with him at Smokin' Oldies, AM 930 KRTH

Oh man, madman ... those phone bits on KGBS from the '70s were GGGGGREAT!

And "The Hullaballooer" just got better with AGE. Loved him on KRLA in the '80s ... early '90s? Sometime ... times flies ... like bats.

BTW, I loved the Brother John stuff you sent me to ... fantastic ... a sad story. Read that he had a stroke, took years to recover then returned to the air at KRLA.

Did he always work nights or all nights?

Wish I had heard in him in LA.

Were you EVER in MARVEL Comics?

The Madman ... would be a FANTASTIC superhero.

No sidekicks need apply ... unless you are female, blonde ... well, it's your sidekick.

Don't get ME started on ROBIN!

KGBS in 'Love' Angeles

I'm not a total Brother John expert Batman, but he was a big name in Progressive radio before making his way to the West coast. Brother John's show (20 hours a day) was all voice tracked on Cart. If you had a 7 second intro, you picked a 6 second Brother John voicer, and that was Smokin' Oldies AM 930 (93KHJ). However the morning man Dave Hull was the best!. For the entire week I filled in after the Hullaballooer, Dave set me up for my whole 4 hours, pulled all my music & commercial carts. Now that was a professional!

I wish you would have known our Wally George too. If anyone deserved to be memorialized in MARVEL comics it would have been Wally!. In what area of the country is the Bat cave? You seem to know much about Southern California...
