Daytime Reception Report - From Rockville Road on West side of Indy

I've spent parts of the last three days in Indianapolis, on the west side along Rockville Road, close to the junction of I-74/I-465 (I'm visiting from Connecticut). Here's what I could pick up with my Panasonic AM/FM/CD "Walkman" on the flirst floor of the Wingate by Wyndham hotel:

530 W~~~ ? Traffic Info Station from IN-DOT [poor]
700 WLW Cincinnati (N/T) [fair]
810 WSYW Indianapolis (Spansih) [good]
840 WHAS Louisville (N/T) [poor]
920 W~~~ ? [poor]
950 WXLW Indianapolis (sports) [fair]
1070 WIBC Indianapolis ESPN Radio (sports) [good]
1190 WOWO Fort Wayne (N/T) [poor]
1260 WNDE Indianapolis (sports?) [poor]
1310 WTLC Indianapolis (gospel) [good]
1430 WXNT Indianapolis (?) [fair]
1500 W~~~ ? (religious) [poor]
1520 WSVX Shelbyville ? (urban?) [poor]
1540 W~~~ ? (Southern gospel) [poor]
1590 WNTS Beech Grove ? (Spanish) [fair]

Go easy on me! This was my first time in Indianapolis and I only had heard of WIBC-AM 1070 beforehand.

I'll help you out. Additions and corrections are in bold. :)

530 Traffic Info Station from INDOT [poor] (AM 530 is heard throughout the state on a bunch of daisychained transmitters along all the interstate highways...they identify each station, but the call sign is so long winded, I could never catch them.)
700 WLW Cincinnati (N/T) [fair]
810 WSYW Indianapolis (Spanish CHR/talk) [good]
840 WHAS Louisville (N/T) [poor]
920 WBAA West Lafayette (NPR talk/jazz) [poor]
950 WXLW Indianapolis (sports) [fair]
1070 WFNI Indianapolis ESPN Radio (sports) [good]
1190 WOWO Fort Wayne (N/T) [poor]
1260 WNDE Indianapolis (sports) [poor]
1310 WTLC Indianapolis (urban Gospel) [good]
1430 WXNT Indianapolis (news/talk) [fair]
1500 WBRI Indianapolis (religious) [poor]
1520 WSVX Shelbyville (Hot AC) [poor]
1540 WMYJ Martinsville (Southern gospel) [poor]
1590 WNTS Beech Grove (Regional Mexican) [fair]

I added a little more detail to a few of the formats for accuracy in case you're logging.

Thank you! As for 1070 AM, I didn't know the call letters had changed! I always used to see "WIBC" on pocket schedules from the Colts and Pacers in years past. I never actually picked up 1070 AM in Connecticut, since we have WTIC-AM 1080 out of Hartford, with them being a regional 50,000 watt clear channel station (owned by CBS Radio at present).

Yep...they changed to WFNI when WIBC moved to 93.1. I actually had to go back and correct the calls after I posted because, I too, have the habit of still referring to 1070 as WIBC.

Nothing at all below 700? I'd have thought at least a mix of St. Louis and Cincinnati on 550, and/or WILL on 580.

Probably not if he was inside the building. Outside, I would think that 550, 580, and the Chicago blowtorches would be at least faintly audible. They certainly were in Bloomington when I lived there.

I don't know. I was inside near the window, away from my laptop screen and WLW-AM 700 came in halfway decent. This was between 3 and 4 PM EDT, if that matters, considering the late sunset I had there.
