Daytime Reception Report - From Rockville Road on West side of Indy

I've spent parts of the last three days in Indianapolis, on the west side along Rockville Road, close to the junction of I-74/I-465 (I'm visiting from Connecticut). Here's what I could pick up with my Panasonic AM/FM/CD "Walkman" on the flirst floor of the Wingate by Wyndham hotel:

530 W~~~ ? Traffic Info Station from IN-DOT [poor]
700 WLW Cincinnati (N/T) [fair]
810 WSYW Indianapolis (Spansih) [good]
840 WHAS Louisville (N/T) [poor]
920 W~~~ ? [poor]
950 WXLW Indianapolis (sports) [fair]
1070 WIBC Indianapolis ESPN Radio (sports) [good]
1190 WOWO Fort Wayne (N/T) [poor]
1260 WNDE Indianapolis (sports?) [poor]
1310 WTLC Indianapolis (gospel) [good]
1430 WXNT Indianapolis (?) [fair]
1500 W~~~ ? (religious) [poor]
1520 WSVX Shelbyville ? (urban?) [poor]
1540 W~~~ ? (Southern gospel) [poor]
1590 WNTS Beech Grove ? (Spanish) [fair]

Go easy on me! This was my first time in Indianapolis and I only had heard of WIBC-AM 1070 beforehand.

920 is WBAA West Lafayette, Purdue University's station.
1070 is WFNI. WIBC moved to FM 93.1 a couple of years ago.
1500 is WBRI Indianapolis.
1540 is WCBK Martinsville.

Lately I have found AM reception inside hotels to be really crappy.
Too much equipment in there generating RF, I guess :-[

The internet and cable TV equipment seem to provide continued interference for the AM band. As each room in a hotel/motel seems equipped for that service, so multiplies the problem(s). Remember the days when it was just a florescent light fixture, a high tension electric line or even an electric razor?

The interwebs and cable TV have many times more listeners/viewers than the AM band. Combine that with the steel-and-concrete hotel building and the $10 clock radio that most rooms have (if there's one at all), and you'll see why nobody cares whether AM is audible in the room or not.
