Denny Laine of Wings Has Passed Away

Laine is the correct spelling. He was a solid craftsman as a musician. Some of Paul McCartney's songs are really lightweight fluff, but Laine always improved the Wings material with his presence. RIP...

Laine was with the Moody Blues when they had their first hit, "Go Now", which Denny performed on the Wings over the World tour in 1976. It's included on this album...

I always imagined that one of the reasons Paul hired Laine for Wings was because of Denny's name. It rhymes with that of a certain Liverpool street.

RIP Denny. Tell Jimmy McCulloch we said hi.
