Detroit Anchor Resigns to Campaign for Medical Marijuana

As the article states, she has MS. It has progressed to the point where she is
having difficulty doing her work. She claims Medical Marijuana is helping her, so she
is campaigning for it on behalf of others.

I read the article. I realize that the system does not allow us to post only quotes - we have to say something. But "good luck with that" sounds dismissive. Recent polls show increasing public support for legal medical and recreational marijuana. Her work experience should make her well qualified to promote legalization.

She's really retiring as a result of her MS. Since medical marijuana is already legal in Michigan, she's not really campaigning for that, she's campaigning for straight up legalization. On that, I hope she is not successful. Most people, including me, are loathe to deny anyone with an identifiable medical issue anything that may alleviate their discomfort, but this need not extend into general marijuana use.

I hope the research that has already resulted in many treatments that have improved the health of those afflicted with MS results in a cure. I do wish her the best with her health, just not with what she is supporting regarding marijuana.

Why not? Why shouldn't anyone be able to choose to get high. Are you so against pleasure? Grass is much less harmful than booze or butts.
Who is against legal weed? Frat rat juice freaks in Ann Arbor and holier than thou church ladies.
