Did Klos the rock of southern California just flip to yacht rock???

Been listening just wonder if its real or just temporary? I saw there latest numbers at least 6+ and they were good. Wonder what prompted this change? I gotta say I am not a fan of this change. Not a fan of classic rock but they played other stuff to. Anyone wanna spill the tea on this?

I'm actually liking the format, but I am an admitted fan of Yacht Rock. There are a lot of online and satellite Yacht Rock stations (or Yacht Rock heavy stations masquerading as other formats). I would think that in Southern California this would make a good fulltime format. Maybe not on a main channel but KLOS or someone else could easily put this on an HD channel and it would probably do very well.

This is a format change I don't expect. Sounds really good! Of course it's a April fools joke, but I like the format to remain it on this frequency or on HD and online. Sounds like the old KNX what's still online with the old format. Only the DJ's don't fits the format, too upbeat.

93.7 WKEY in Key West, FL is 24/7 Yacht Rock.

Klos should pick a. different format every year on April 1
Yes, agreed.... but it needs to be a format that's definitely not available in the market. There are so many they could do though.....a rebirth of Pirate Radio, all-disco or dance, Outlaw Country, Heavy Metal, Polka, Good Time Oldies, Smooth Jazz, Jammin' Oldies, All 80s/90s/70s/40s, etc. I could go on.... ideally they should look at historical LA station formats that no longer exist (KROQ did a Pirate Radio retread in the 90s for April Fools Day) or look at other markets outside Southern California that are doing something different and try it out.... testing research.... what if this experiment actually yields a new local Yacht Rock station permanently?
