Did mainline really conduct a nationwide search for the a.m. and nite shows

Seems kinda odd they said they did a nationwide search for peter B's replacement and for ben's replacement but they ended up choosing people already working for them. Ben was a great choice for the morning show and sarah i am getting to like her more. She is different then when she was on the max. Much more high energy.

I take it mainline advertised those positions because they had to. I bet they never had any intention of hiring anyone other then ben and sarah but just speculation on my part.

Anyone know

Thanks

One word -- DUH!

When Sarah was "let go" from the max, it happened right around the same time Ben moved to mornings, and Chuck Bradley was let go -- it was all planned...

ohh 3 more words...

CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP

I have no idea if they conducted a nationwide search or not. Perhaps Hot P you can take calls about that on your radio show...oh wait, nevermind. The bigger point is have your heard some of the crap that passes as airchecks, my PD in Indy played some airchecks he recieved last year for a couple of openings and my god they were horrible, lots of station imaging, but very little jock content that was worth anything.
BTW - he promoted our overnight guy in that situation...so maybe he is guilty too! Sometimes, it may not just be about the money, it is about rewarding someone who has worked hard.

I sent kelly k a message congratulating her and ben and she told me they got over 60 airchecks for the morning show so know-it-all i am sure most were crap thats what kelly said only like 5 were good.

Mainline has to be conservative in an effort to power serve their investors here. They got the stations cheap. But they have stations in a market where its hard to operate on the cheap.

Most radio stations, even Top 40 are moving in a new direction to axe nights. There is very little money in that daypart.
