Did the Travel Channel actually air a movie this past weekend?

I didn't actually see any of it, but when checking listings saw that "Lost In Translation" (with a great Bill Murray performance) was listed as a movie on the Travel Channel over this past weekend. Darn it, I would have watched it if I had known in more advance, as that is actually a pretty good movie. Testing the waters, or have they done this before? (Agreed, "Lost in Translation" is a good candidate for this channel, as it does "take you to the location".)...but what is it about movies on these so-called informational channels? (See other thread on Weather Channel).

Yes, I just saw that. I don't think they do this very frequently, but maybe not a bad idea if the movie actually takes you on-location, and highlights it appropriately. (As does both Eureopean Vac, and Lost In Translation) Just a bit odd since this is not what these channels were originally built to do. I guess everything is fluid these days.

Someone mentioned before that "European Vacation" with Chevy Chase aired on The Travel Channel previously.

The original National Lampoon's Vacation has also been on the Travel Channel as well in recent weeks.

It won't be long before Travel Channel schedules the Tom Green vehicle "Road Trip"...

Hmmm. How about some old (or new) MTV Spring Break coverage? That highlights the local areas doesn't it? Hmm?? Oh wait, no. That highlights something else.

But you can still see the local area in the background.

I think.

Look since they lost rights to Poker coverage then they have to do movies.

in this economy their channel probably consists of a minimum-wage board op and a stack of VHS tapes
