DIfferent station/city of licenses, but same city name/channel allocation

It occurred to me recently that there areseveral situations where the same analog channel number has been alloted to two communities with the same name. For example...

-Channel 4-
WCMH, Columbus, OH
WCBI, Columbus, MS

-Channel 6-
WCSH, Portland, ME
KOIN, POrtland, OR

-Channel 7-
WITN, Washington, NC
WJLA, Washington, DC

-Channel 10-
WHEC, Rochester, NY
KTTC, Rochester, MN

-Channel 11-
WTVD, Durham, NC
WENH, Durham, NH

-Channel 15-
WPDE, Florence, SC
WHDF, Florence, AL

-Channel 16-
WAPT, Jackson, MI
WJKT, Jackson, TN

-Channel 28-
WTTE, Columbus, OH
WJSP, Columbus, GA

Are there other examples out there not listed here? For the moment, let's stick to NTSC allotments and see what we come up with.

Re: Different station/city of licenses, but same city name/channel allocation

WTEN-TV (ABC) channel 10 Albany, NY
WALB-TV (NBC) channel 10 Albany, GA

Here's an even more unusual one - 2 instances from the same 2 communities:

-Channel 2-
KPRC, Houston TX
CBCH, Houston BC Canada

-Channel 8-
KUHT, Houston TX
CFHO, Houston BC Canada

I assume you're only looking at full-service NTSC stations? I'll bet that there are a lot more matches when you add LPTV stations.
Edited by dhett on 06/19/05 06:38 AM.
