Discussion of Politics and related subjects

This is a board for the discussion of RADIO only, not politics, be if left, center or right. I am tired of getting complaints about these discussions, and if there are any further threads on the subject, they will be immediately deleted. If the same poster continues with further thread, that poster will be banned.

If you want to discuss the various hosts and their subjects, that's fine as long as no personal views are interjected. There can also be no flaming of other posters or the hosts, no name calling, etc.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.<P ID="signature">______________

Politics suggestion

I'm sure you've discussed this before, but does it make sense to consider a POLITICS board? I know R-I is designed for radio-related discussions, but since politics is such a hot potato subject these days, it might be OK to funnel all the pol talk that inevitably finds its way onto various boards into one location.

Just a thought.

Fully understood...I began a thread about a politically driven radio show...which went awry when individuals of opposing views became involved. Having been away for a few days I see the post is now removed which is for the best.

Re: Politics suggestion

When the thread turns into "hosts getting talking points for thier shows from party leadership", that still is a discussion about radio. Which is what most of that thread's content was.

Don't see the problem with that, really.

I agree, completely. But Matt (and any moderator) has to walk a fine line, and it's a tough one...

A discussion about Air America in NY with subsequent threads about the position of, let's say, Michael Savage, is likely political in nature, and may eventually include quasi-attacks on a particular poster's political beliefs.

(Side note: Though I disagree with some of his rants, Michael Savage is one of the funniest, ballsiest, truth-telling-with-a-side-of-snarkiness hosts on the air today. Absolute, 100% entertainment, regardless of where you are politically.)

Still, not for nothing, the moderators are here to moderate, so we live by the rules, such as they are.

Re: Politics suggestion

Staying within the new rules, I will just say that Michael Savage is not entertaining and truth is a relative term.

Well put..I would add that "Savage" is appropriately named..
