DJ MO Number #1 18-49 on Orlando's Public Radio WPRK- FM

It's true, and just when one would think Orlando public radio might not pull some number's DJ MO can testify to that. DJ MO and WPRK-FM must really be doing something right, which leads me to believe maybe Orlando's commercial radio stations should stand up take notice and take lesson's..

Got a link to those rankings? Hard to imagine but a great thing if it is true

Orlando hasn't switched to PPM yet, so non-com numbers are unavailable except for the 12+ numbers at Radio Research Consortium.

Good one. :D

I'm really glad to see some of the more well respected Orlando Radio-Info poster's had a little fun with this topic, all tongue in cheek, and not intended to be at DJ MO'S expense, however, I have heard rumor's, although unsubstantiated, something to the effect that DJ Mo in addition to being on radio is able to amaze his friend's and neighbor's at his uncanny ability to part water in one's swimming pool, so with that said and keeping within the theme of the topic, nothing else to this point will ever surprise me......I graciously thank you all from the heart's of my bottom for a little humor with no pun intended.....

It might be better to be infamous than be nothing at all. ;)

I really do feel so relieved. :D

In all seriousness, I really do hope WPRK's numbers (overall) will be good for a 1300 watt station come October.
And hopefully one of you will help give me the REAL data for my daypart.
I will hold in my #2 for that.
Brace yourselves. ;D

DJ Mo - I'm sure you will do fine in the ratings. And once those numbers are available, I'm sure someone privy to said real numbers will be happy to pass them along to you. I wish you the best and hope you do well.

For the record, WPRK-FM did not install PPM encoding... :D
Splat!

DJMO Dude, everybody knew for the most part you must have encoding equipment to entertain receiving PPM's and yes their expensive, and no, public radio doesn't really fall into a rating system that would require PPM's or PPM encoder's to signify listener-ship or at least that I'm aware of, JMTILLERY or DavidEduardo could lend more to this discussion then I'm able to offer, so I remain guilty for distorting this topic in the first place, but hey dude, all-in-all we're listening to you and you have my vote.....

As I understand it, Arbitron will (at no cost) supply a radio station who's signal reaches into a PPM market with the necessary equipment to properly encode and monitor the status of encoding on their station. It is in Arbitron's best interest to have every station in the market on-board with PPM encoding. Having a complete view of a market (all stations participating) adds value and credibility to the data that Arbitron is selling to their clients.

Anyone here know how much a PPM encoder costs exactly, or ballpark?

"Arbitron will provide, at no cost, a primary encoder, a backup encoder, and encoding monitor for each eligible AM or FM station that elects to encode, regardless of subscriber status."

Good news. I talked my station manager & engineer into installing Arbitron PPM for WPRK-FM.
Let's see how fast they do paperwork & get everything done.
Now I want to know how much the cost to subscribe to the ratings data is.
Anyone care to share?

DJ MO: An Arbitron subscription can be costly, and taking a stab at it, ballpark figure and knowing what it used to cost under the old diary system, now-a-day's maybe just maybe $100,000 plus which I believe to be a reasonable guess by today's standards, give or take a few dollars here or there, to sum it up, it's more then doughnut sales or car wash fund raising event could raise in any one given weekend for a public radio broadcast facility.

I'm sure Arbitron would be more then happy to discuss all the fact's and figures with WPRK-FM.

Let us know.....

I just looked at my website insights & found that this discussion board in particular was #3 external website referrals.
Yes, that means many of you have checked me out wondering who I am after seeing me post here.
Thank you all for your interest.
Many Mo things to come in 2011.
See you on the flip side! ;)

You see Mo, a little promotion can't hurt huh? We're glad to see you appreciate alllll of the attention that you've received! Keep up the good work...
