Do Clear Channel and the NAB Want to Steal the Satellite Radio Licenses?

Now let me see if I have this straight: The Justice Department, after a thorough review, found no reason for Sirius/XM not to merge. A shell group, which at the very least has been funded by the NAB, now wants the FCC to take away the satellite radio licenses altogether. I'm having trouble making sense of that, unless Clear Channel sees some kind of large profit at some point by figuring out a way to steal these licenses. Here's a link if you don't believe me:

This is just another Carl Rove-ian trick by the NAB to kill off SAt radio. If they just wait another 6 or so years the market and it's present churn rate will do that for them.

Even the NAB can't be so stupid as to want a piece of this sinking ship, unless they have some use for the satellites themselves which are also getting up there in years.

Terrestrial radio is merging with the Internet, and will completely kill satrad as soon as mobile technology is in place. I love my XM, but it’s 90’s tech and destined to join the 8-track player in the back of the attic.

Given the programming, I doubt TR will deliver anything an unfettered internet does already. Sirius already offers internet streams and upgraded equipment since you-know-who arrived, and as I understand it, one receiver allows you to listen via WiFi as well as off of the birds and repeater system. Who knows what else could be offered through new devices.
